Psychological assessments play a vital role in accurately identifying mental health conditions, guiding effective treatment planning, and supporting access to academic, workplace, or standardized testing accommodations. These evaluations are designed to enhance personal insight and performance in key areas of life.
Unlike a simple symptom checklist you might complete with your pediatrician or primary care physician, a psychological evaluation provides a deeper look into your cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. At our practice, psychological assessments may include a combination of cognitive testing (such as IQ and achievement measures), personality inventories, diagnostic interviews, and self-report questionnaires. This comprehensive approach ensures that we gather a full picture of your strengths, challenges, and unique needs.
Our licensed Clinical Psychologist tailors each assessment to answer your specific referral questions—whether you're seeking diagnostic clarity, documentation for accommodations, or a deeper understanding of your mental health. Testing typically takes several hours and is completed in one day (unless their are extenuating circumstances).
Once testing is complete, your clinician will analyze the data, interpret the findings, and prepare a detailed psychological report. You’ll have the opportunity to review the results and ask questions in a personalized feedback session. Throughout the process, our team is here to support you and ensure that your experience is thorough, respectful, and collaborative.
Please note: We do not provide court-ordered, forensic, or custody-related assessments. At this time, we do not offer Autism Spectrum diagnostics or gender-related assessment.
Psychological Testing is an important investment financially, mentally, and time-wise. The process typically takes 4-6 weeks, but may be longer depending on scheduling preferences, clinician availability, and the complexity of the evaluation.
The psychological testing process begins with a conversation. We will take the time to get to know you or your child, understand your concerns, identify your goals, and get clear on all of the questions you may have. Whether you're considering psychological testing for yourself, your child, or a loved one, we explore the areas you'd like to focus on, provide suggestions for the best way to answer those questions, and outline how psychological testing can help.
Each assessment is thoughtfully customized to reflect your individual goals and concerns. The process often includes a mix of interviews, questionnaires, and interactive tasks to explore cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. We create a calm, supportive setting and offer breaks as needed to help you feel comfortable and focused throughout the experience. Depending on the length of the testing session, it may be beneficial to bring a snack, lunch, and/or a beverage. Feel free to discuss this with the psychologist when making your appointment so that your needs can be fully addressed.
Once testing is complete, we carefully review and interpret the results to provide a well-rounded understanding of your strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Our evaluations are grounded in the latest evidence-based tools, ensuring accurate insights and thoughtful, actionable recommendations.
At Get Centered Wellness, we value honest and open communication. In this session, we’ll walk through your results together, answer any questions you have, and explore the best next steps. Our aim is to make sure you feel clear, supported, and empowered as you move forward.
You’ll get a clear, thoughtfully written report that breaks down your results and offers practical recommendations. This report can support educational planning, guide your therapy journey, or help with personal growth and important decisions. And if you’d like, we’re happy to work alongside schools, therapists, or healthcare providers to make sure the plan works well for you or your loved one.
At Get Centered Wellness, we believe in clear communication and a seamless client experience. While we do not work directly with insurance companies, we’re happy to provide a detailed superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

At Get Centered Wellness, we offer comprehensive psychological evaluations tailored to your unique needs—whether you're facing academic, emotional, or behavioral concerns. Our evaluations provide clear, meaningful insights and practical next steps to support your healing and growth.
Our psychoeducational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that examines cognitive, academic, visual-motor, and emotional functioning to identify learning differences, attention issues, or other factors affecting school or work performance. It provides insight into a person's strengths and challenges and helps determine appropriate accommodations, interventions, or support strategies. This type of evaluation is commonly used to assess for ADHD, learning disabilities, or giftedness.
Gaining insight into your personality can reveal valuable information about your strengths, patterns, and emotional landscape. At Get Centered Wellness, we offer comprehensive personality assessments to support greater self-awareness and guide personal growth. Our process includes an in-depth psychological evaluation, a clear and thoughtful report, and a personalized feedback session to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
Gaining admission to selective academic programs often involves demonstrating a student’s cognitive strengths, challenges, and learning potential. Admissions testing offers valuable insight into a student’s intellectual abilities, helping inform placement and enrollment decisions. At Get Centered Wellness, we offer thorough, reliable admissions evaluations to empower families with the clarity and confidence needed during the school admissions journey.
Difficulty with attention, focus, or impulsivity can affect every aspect of life—from work and school to relationships and self-esteem. At Get Centered Wellness, we offer thorough ADHD evaluations to help individuals gain clarity, understand their unique challenges, and move forward with confidence. Our process includes a detailed assessment, a clear and accessible report, and personalized feedback to guide your next steps with insight and support.
Neurocognitive testing involves a series of carefully designed tasks and exercises that measure different areas of brain function, such as memory, attention, processing speed, executive functioning, and problem-solving abilities. These assessments help identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, detect conditions like ADHD, learning disabilities, brain injuries, or the effects of aging, and inform tailored treatment or educational plans. By understanding how your brain works, we can better support your mental health, learning, and daily functioning.
A Functional Independence Evaluation assesses your ability to perform everyday activities—like dressing, cooking, managing finances, and personal care—to determine the level of support you might need. This evaluation helps identify strengths and areas where assistance or therapy could improve your independence and quality of life. It’s a helpful step toward creating a personalized plan that supports your goals and daily functioning.
Pre-surgical psychological evaluations are comprehensive assessments that help prepare you mentally and emotionally for upcoming surgery. These evaluations explore factors like coping skills, mental health history, and readiness for surgery to identify any potential challenges and support needs. The goal is to ensure you’re as prepared as possible for a successful recovery and to work with your medical team to provide the best care before and after surgery.
Please note that the testing fees are nonrefundable, regardless of whether you agree with the findings. Payment is due in full prior to engaging in the assessment process.

Please be sure to bring a list of all medications you or your child are currently taking. It may also be helpful to bring along any documentation that supports your questions or concerns, such as school records, relevant medical records, etc.
The time needed for testing varies depending on the type and depth of the evaluation. Sessions usually last between 2 and 8 hours and are done all in one day. If there are extenuating circumstances, testing may be spread over a couple visits if expressly necessary. To ensure accurate assessment, we require you/your child's full attention. Other family/children will not be allowed in the testing room during testing, and distractions/interruptions will need to be removed. All electronics (phone, tablet, connected watches, ear buds, etc.) must be silenced and stowed away for the duration of the assessment.
Testing sessions can be draining. A good night’s sleep and a balanced meal before your session can help you or your child feel calm and ready to focus. If you’re bringing a child in for testing, it’s helpful to let them know the session will include some fun activities like puzzles, questions, and drawing. We encourage clients to bring snacks and water (please only beverages without sugar), and we'll offer rest breaks as needed during testing.
For ADHD evaluations, all medications should be discontinued at least 4 days before the appointment to allow for adequate washout period.
We don’t bill insurance directly, but we’re happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Since coverage for psychological testing varies, we recommend checking with your insurance to see what out-of-network benefits you might have. If you’d like, our team is here to help guide you through the process.
A superbill is a comprehensive receipt that contains all the details your insurance company may require for reimbursement—like the services you received, diagnostic codes, and the fees you paid. Once your testing is finished, we can provide this document for you to submit to your insurance. Just keep in mind that any reimbursement will depend on your specific out-of-network benefits.
Your final report will provide a thorough summary of your test results, clear explanations of what they mean, and personalized recommendations designed just for you. These might include academic supports, treatment ideas, or tools to support your personal growth. We’ll review the report together in a feedback session to make sure you feel confident and clear about how to put the insights into action.
Absolutely! With your written permission, we can share important findings with schools, therapists, healthcare providers, or other trusted professionals to help make sure the recommendations are put into action. Working together is key to supporting the best possible outcomes for you. At your request, the psychologist may consult with your or your child’s school, workplace, healthcare provider, or other third party. These services are billed in 15-minute increments at the psychologist’s standard hourly rate.
Sometimes the picture can be a little more complicated than initially expected. If we find that more testing could help clarify certain areas, we’ll talk about it with you during the feedback session. We’ll explain the reasons and walk you through the next steps so you feel fully informed and supported every step of the way.
We believe in open communication and will make sure to clearly explain your results. If anything feels off or doesn’t quite match your experience, we’re here to review those parts and clarify how we reached our conclusions. Your perspective matters, and our goal is to make sure the findings feel relevant and helpful for you. Of course, you’re always welcome to seek a second opinion from another healthcare professional if you feel it would be helpful. Please note that the testing fees are nonrefundable, regardless of whether you agree with the findings.
