People choose to begin mental health therapy for many different reasons, and all of them are valid. You may be navigating grief, moving through a life transition, seeking relief from anxiety or depression, or working to heal from past trauma. Mental health therapy provides a supportive space to explore these challenges and can be a powerful tool for fostering resilience, growth, coping strategies, and overall well-being. If there is an area of your life you’d like to strengthen or transform, therapy may offer the guidance and support you need.
You may notice some internal shifts after your first few mental health therapy sessions. Deeper transformation can take more time and consistency. Depending on your symptoms and treatment goals, some clients benefit from short-term therapy, while others find the most benefit from longer treatment. The length of time depends on your therapy needs, goals, and readiness to engage in the process and make meaningful changes in your daily life. This is something you can discuss with your therapist to explore what is best for you based on your needs and goals.
We are a self-pay, out-of-network practice. This means clients pay directly for sessions, but many are able to use their out-of-network insurance benefits for partial or even full reimbursement of session fees. At the end of each month, we’ll provide you with a superbill(a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company.
We’ve chosen this model because it allows us to protect your privacy, avoid unnecessary diagnostic labels, and provide therapy that isn’t limited by insurance rules around session length, frequency, or treatment approaches.
Traditional therapy can use a wide range of modalities including identifying feelings, thinking patterns, and behaviors, using visualization techniques, and other methods that address a variety of concerns. EMDR on the other hand, targets specific traumatic memories to reduce distress and the emotional charge behind them using guided eye movement. EMDR therapy can be beneficial for PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and chronic stress.
It depends on the issues you are working on and the complexity of that issue. For a single traumatic event, 12 sessions may be sufficient. For complex or prolonged exposure to trauma, more sessions are needed. We want to give your body the time and space it needs to heal without pressure or force. By accepting where we are, getting support like EMDR therapy, and celebrating our growth along the way, many people experience significant benefits and a high success rate with EMDR.
No. EMDR therapy is not about re-experiencing your trauma in detail. Instead, the process is designed to help your brain reprocess painful memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge and allows healing to take place.
You won’t be asked to go into graphic detail about what happened, and you remain in control of how much you share. The goal is not to relive your trauma but to safely transform the way those memories affect you in the present. Your therapist will guide you at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
The number of sessions depends on your goal for healing. While it can be a wonderful long-term complimentary service to support optimal well-being, it can also be beneficial to do a few independent sessions as well. While each person’s session and results are unique, many benefits of reiki healing have been reported ranging from relaxation to an improved sense of peace, reduced pain, spiritual growth, improved sleep, and much more. Feel free to ask your reiki healing practitioner about their recommendations for your specific focus and goals.
Many clients have reported an increased feeling of peace, calm, relaxation, and reduced stress after a session. While other professional treatments may be necessary, depending on the cause of your depression, reiki healing can be a wonderful complimentary treatment.
There is no right or wrong topic for a tarot reading. It’s recommended to contemplate if there is a particular area of your life that could use some additional guidance or support such as your career, relationships, or spiritual growth. Alternatively, you can come without a topic or intention and ask for a general message to best support you and be open to see what guidance you receive.
It is recommended to trust your own instinct, intuition, and logic in making decisions that feel best for you. However, a tarot reading can help in your own exploration process by highlighting certain aspects to consider that are connected to your inquiry.
A wellness retreat is an intentional space set aside for transformation, reflection, and renewal. Retreats can take many forms:
Whether designed for a company or for individuals, retreats allow participants to step away from daily demands, intentionally reconnect with themselves, and return with new tools and a clearer sense of balance.
Yes, we have lots of individual attendees at our wellness retreats and it can be a great opportunity to meet like-minded friends and create soulful connections.
If there is a practice or exercise at the wellness retreat that you don’t resonate with, just like in our yoga classes, you are always encouraged to honor your body and needs. You can take a breath outside, rest in savasana or child’s pose, or decompress with a warm cup of tea in our loft. We’d also encourage you to tune into your resistance as sometimes pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone can help us grow, but never at the expense of injuring yourself or ignoring your own intuition of course. We trust your discernment in knowing what is best for you.
