Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy) is a highly successful treatment approach for healing trauma and other distressing life experiences. During this treatment approach, clients are asked to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically, eye movements).
EMDR is an extensively researched and highly effective treatment method, proven to help people recover from long-standing trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms.
Research is also demonstrating EMDR therapy is promising for a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), chronic pain, addiction, grief, and more.
