Intensive Therapy Program Bel Air MD

Intensive Therapy Program Bel Air MD

Deep Work, Without the Waiting

You've been in therapy for a while, or maybe you've been thinking about starting. Either way, something isn't moving. The same patterns keep showing up. The same weight is still there. You're functional, you show up, you handle it, but underneath, you know you haven't actually gotten to the thing.

Get Centered Wellness provides an intensive therapy program in Bel Air, MD for adults working through trauma, PTSD, chronic anxiety, and burnout who haven't found lasting relief through weekly sessions. Our licensed clinical psychologists and EMDR-certified therapists deliver concentrated, personalized care over several consecutive days, with in-person sessions at 139 N Main St in Bel Air and clients served throughout Harford County and greater Maryland. We are a self-pay, out-of-network practice and provide a monthly superbill for possible insurance reimbursement.

What Weekly Therapy Sometimes Can't Reach

An hour a week is a real commitment. But for many people working through trauma or years of accumulated burnout, it isn't enough time to get beneath the surface before the session ends and the week rushes back in.

People searching for a therapy intensive often arrive having already tried weekly therapy for months or years without feeling like they've moved.

The intensive format changes the structure entirely. Instead of one hour once a week, you work in extended, concentrated sessions over the course of a few days. That continuity allows deeper work to unfold without the constant stopping and restarting that makes weekly therapy hard for some people to sustain.

This Isn't a Higher Level of Crisis Care

While some programs are structured around partial hospitalization, what we offer is better understood as intensive outpatient therapy: concentrated, clinically rigorous care for high-functioning adults who don't need inpatient support but do need more than a weekly hour.

You might be managing your life well on the outside. Working, parenting, showing up. But exhausted in a way that rest alone doesn't fix, and ready to address what's actually underneath it.

Who This Work Is For

Many clients who come to us feeling completely burnt out and overwhelmed have been pushing through for so long that their nervous systems have lost the ability to regulate without structured support.

Others carry trauma that predates the burnout. The intensive format was designed specifically for people living with deep trauma that won't go away despite years of effort, where weekly therapy alone hasn't created the sustained relief they were hoping for.

This is likely a good fit if you:

  • Have been working through trauma, PTSD, or anxiety that hasn't shifted with standard therapy
  • Find that a weekly schedule is hard to sustain given your work or family commitments
  • Are ready to do focused, meaningful work in a structured setting
  • Want to understand and change the underlying pattern, not just manage the symptoms

The Clinicians You'd Be Working With

Christina Allen, LCPC is a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant with more than 15 years of experience specializing in complex and developmental trauma, attachment wounds, and acute traumatic stress. Her EMDR intensives are paced to let you go deep without feeling overwhelmed, with careful attention to where you are at each stage of the work.

Michelle Perry, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 16 years of experience, certified in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Breathwork, and Vibrational Sound Healing. She provides clinical oversight across all intensives and structures each one so you leave feeling grounded, not depleted.

Erica Marshall, LCPC holds specialized training in EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, Sound Bath Healing, and Reiki. She works from a trauma-informed, attachment-focused approach and supports clients in moving beyond survival mode toward a renewed sense of what's possible.

What Your Intensive Actually Looks Like

Your intensive begins with a personalized treatment plan built around your history, your goals, and what your nervous system can handle. Sessions are paced carefully. Somatic practices are woven in throughout to keep you regulated and grounded as the work unfolds.

Get Centered Wellness offers EMDR and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Intensives led by licensed clinicians with advanced training in trauma treatment, a level of specialization that makes a meaningful difference in what becomes possible for you.

For clients whose trauma or treatment-resistant depression hasn't responded to talk therapy alone, the intensive program can also incorporate ketamine-assisted therapy as part of a personalized, clinically supervised plan.

Every intensive ends with follow-up recommendations so you have clear guidance for what comes next. The work doesn't stop when the sessions do.

What You Might Notice Afterward

Clients often describe making more progress in a few days than they did in months of weekly sessions. That's not a guarantee, but concentrated time with a skilled trauma-trained clinician creates conditions that a weekly hour can't replicate.

Many people leave feeling more regulated, more grounded, and with a clearer sense of what has been driving the patterns they came in with. Some feel ready to step back from ongoing therapy. Others move into less frequent sessions with a renewed sense of direction.

Questions People Ask When They're Considering This

I've been in therapy for years and I'm still stuck. Would an intensive actually be different?

Yes. The difference comes down to structure. In weekly therapy, your nervous system has to open, do difficult work, and close again inside 50 minutes, and you return to daily life right after. In an intensive, you stay in the work across multiple days. Processing goes deeper. Integration has time to happen. Clients who felt stuck in weekly sessions often describe an intensive as the first time something actually shifted.

I don't know if what I've been through counts as trauma. Is this still for me?

Yes. You don't need a formal trauma diagnosis to benefit from an intensive. If you've been carrying something that weighs on you, if certain memories or patterns keep pulling you back, if anxiety or emotional exhaustion has become your baseline, those experiences deserve real clinical attention. During the consultation, your clinician will take time to understand your history and clarify what kind of support fits.

Will I fall apart during an intensive and then just have to go home?

No. The pacing is specifically designed to prevent that. Somatic regulation practices are built into each session to keep your nervous system supported throughout. You won't be pushed further than you're ready to go. The follow-up plan you leave with is a built-in part of the intensive. The goal is that you leave more grounded than when you arrived.

How much does an intensive cost, and will insurance cover it?

EMDR intensive prices range from $2,000 to $5,000 depending on the structure and location. We are a self-pay, out-of-network practice, which means you pay directly for sessions. At the end of each month, we provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurance company for possible partial or full reimbursement under your out-of-network benefits.

Taking the Next Step

If something on this page resonated, that's worth paying attention to. If you're not sure whether an intensive is the right fit, you're welcome to reach out to get started and the team can help you figure out what level of support makes sense for where you are right now.
