Therapy Intensive Bel Air MD

Therapy Intensive Bel Air MD

Deep Healing Without the Stops and Starts

You've shown up. Week after week, you've done the work. And something still feels stuck, like you're circling the same ground without ever quite breaking through.

That's not a reflection of how hard you've tried. It's often what happens when healing gets compressed into a single hour, once a week, between everything else your life demands.

Get Centered Wellness offers therapy intensives in Bel Air, MD for adults working through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, burnout, and emotional patterns that haven't shifted in weekly therapy. Sessions are available in person at 139 N Main St in Bel Air. Your care is led by licensed clinicians, including Michelle Perry, PhD, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 16 years of experience; Christina Allen, LCPC, a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant; and Erica Marshall, LCPC, trained in EMDR, Reiki, and sound bath healing. The practice is self-pay and provides a monthly superbill for possible out-of-network insurance reimbursement.

When Weekly Therapy Isn't Enough

For people who've spent years showing up to weekly sessions without feeling like anything is shifting, therapy intensives offer a fundamentally different structure: concentrated, immersive work that keeps momentum from session to session.

Instead of spreading treatment across months of weekly appointments, an intensive condenses that work into several focused hours over a few consecutive days.

Your nervous system stays engaged. The work builds. There's no week-long gap where daily life rushes back in before you've had a chance to integrate what just opened up.

What the Structure Actually Looks Like

Before your intensive begins, your clinician develops a personalized treatment plan based on your history and goals.

Sessions are paced to allow deep engagement without overwhelming you. Somatic practices are woven throughout to support nervous system regulation and grounding. Every intensive ends with specific follow-up recommendations so the work you do doesn't lose momentum once you leave.

You're not dropped into something and left to figure out the rest on your own.

Who This Format Tends to Reach

Many people who seek out intensive work aren't in crisis. They're completely burnt out and overwhelmed, still functioning on the outside while running on empty underneath.

For others, it's deep trauma that won't go away: the kind that stays beneath the surface no matter how much weekly therapy they've done.

Some clients come in with PTSD or anxiety that hasn't responded to traditional treatment. Others have schedules that don't allow for a long-term weekly commitment, and an intensive gives them a real path forward within the time they have.

Some clients are drawn to this format after realizing that a weekly hour simply can't hold the depth of what they're carrying, which is part of why interest in an intensive therapy program has grown among people who've already tried traditional therapy without enough to show for it.

The Approaches Used in Your Intensive

Intensives at Get Centered Wellness are built around EMDR, a well-established treatment that targets traumatic memories directly and reduces their emotional charge without requiring you to relive what happened in graphic detail.

For clients whose trauma or depression hasn't responded to traditional approaches, the option to combine EMDR with ketamine-assisted therapy can reach layers of emotional processing that talk therapy alone often can't access.

The hybrid format, which weaves ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and EMDR into a single three-day arc, is designed for people ready to work at the intersection of neuroscience and somatic healing. Yoga, sound baths, and breathwork are integrated throughout to support your whole system, not just your mind.

Clients across the region, including those exploring intensive outpatient therapy in Harford County, are often looking for something that fits around real life while still going deep enough to create lasting change.

The People You'll Work With

What makes intensive work land is the clinical depth behind it. The clinicians at Get Centered Wellness have built careers around exactly this kind of care.

Michelle Perry, PhD (License #05664) has 16 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She completed a rigorous one-year postgraduate training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and holds certifications in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy and Breathwork. She provides clinical oversight for every intensive and works directly with clients in this format.

Christina Allen, LCPC is a Certified EMDR Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and training facilitator with the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. Her 15 years of trauma-focused practice include deep specialization in complex trauma, developmental trauma, and acute traumatic stress. If you've been carrying something for a long time without resolution, her training is specifically built for that.

Erica Marshall, LCPC brings training in EMDR, Reiki, and sound bath healing and is completing additional training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. Her approach integrates somatic and relational work in a way that supports clients who've felt disconnected from their own healing process.

What People Often Notice Afterward

Results vary, and no honest practice makes guarantees.

What clients often describe after intensive work is a sense of release: the kind that's difficult to find when healing happens one hour at a time. Many feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to regulate what used to overwhelm them. Others describe clarity around patterns that felt completely immovable.

Some arrive unsure whether real change is possible. Many leave feeling, for the first time in a long time, like it is.

Questions People Ask Before They Reach Out

I've been in therapy for years and nothing has changed. Would this actually be different?

Yes, for many people, and the difference is structural. Weekly therapy asks you to make progress in one-hour fragments, often days apart. An intensive removes those interruptions. You stay inside the work long enough for something to actually move. Whether that's true for you specifically is something the intake process is designed to assess honestly, before anything is scheduled.

How much does a therapy intensive cost, and will insurance cover any of it?

Intensives range from $2,000 to $5,000 depending on the format and whether ketamine-assisted components are included. Get Centered Wellness is a self-pay, out-of-network practice. At the end of each month, you receive a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurance carrier for possible partial or full reimbursement depending on your out-of-network benefits.

Do I have to do ketamine to get something out of the intensive?

No. EMDR-only intensives are a complete experience on their own, and ketamine-assisted therapy is always a separate clinical decision that involves medical screening before it becomes part of any plan. Many clients work entirely through EMDR and somatic practices and find it to be exactly what they needed.

What happens after the intensive ends?

You leave with specific follow-up recommendations built around your experience. Many clients continue with periodic therapy, coaching, or yoga at Get Centered Wellness. The intensive is designed as a catalyst, not a conclusion, and your care team thinks about what comes next as part of the intensive itself.

Taking the First Step

You don't have to be certain this is right for you before reaching out. People who are unsure whether an intensive is the right fit are welcome to reach out to the team: the intake process is designed to help figure that out before any commitment is made.
